Neighbourhood Support is a nationwide community-led movement that brings people and neighbourhoods together to create safe, resilient, and connected communities. A well-connected community helps to improve safety, resilience, and wellbeing for all.
The Hibiscus Coast was previously under the umbrella of the Rodney Neighbourhood Support however in recognition of the growth in the Hibiscus Coast area, which is now the second most populated area in the Auckland Region, after Auckland itself, a group of Hibiscus Coast residents established the Hibiscus Coast Neighbourhood Support in 2025.
Hibiscus Coast is rapidly growing with numerous planned developments and a diverse population with a higher than average retired population. It is also very susceptible to severe weather events, flooding and tsunami.
By staying connected and supporting each other we can make our neighbourhoods safe, resilient and welcoming for all.
